Shirt #14 | meet the sustainable stylist – Kamilla from Hexekami

Every week we’ll be collaborating with artists and designers who are creating, repairing, styling their t-shirts. So we can make 100 t-shirts a green statement the next 2 years. This week we are not upcycling or repairing a t-shirt. We’re inspiring you to shop your own closet and rewear your t-shirt. So t-shirt #14 is styling inspo, and that is why this week we teamed up with Kamilla – sustainable stylist at Hexekami. What is her story?

Tell a little bit about yourself

My name is Kamilla and I am a 27 year old Danish woman living in Aarhus, Denmark. I have a Master’s degree in intellectual history and religion studies and am currently working on becoming a sustainable stylist. I only wear secondhand as in vintage or thrifted stuff or hand made by myself either from crochet or sewing. Also I enjoy dramatic literature with strong females and always try to channel those characters into my style.

What is your goal with styling?

I would like to inspire those kinds of people to for themselves dive into the amazing realm of second hand fashion. Both to protect the planet but also because it’s usually much cooler stuff you cand find there.

How you want to be climate friendly

I want to be climate friendly by shopping secondhand for whatever I can and also by eating food that is locally produced and in season, not flying if I travel, and also to not be annoying about my choices to others that aren’t doing these thing. There’s nothing worse than people enforcing their views on others in a nasty manner. I try to be kind and encouraging instead.
