The shirt this week in the spotlight is our TRAVELING TSHIRT. We started this a few months ago. Have one t-shirt travel from one maker to the next, so they can all add a story to the t-shirt and upcycle it together. First the shirt went to Nineke, she added a strawberry patch, read all about it here. Next up the shirt went to Petra from Indigo Ravens, and after that the shirt went to…. FELINE! What did she make on the shirt?
Feline and her mom run an Instagram account Felines Favorites where Feline shows upcycled items like small bags, and bracelets she makes. As Feline is Dutch, I also put her Dutch answers in the interview.
What matters? Take good care of the earth
I would like to take good care of the earth because I am still young and want to live on a healthy earth for a very long time. I think it’s good to last longer and give things a second life, especially if something isn’t broken yet. If you only want something new because you are tired of the old, you can also reuse. That’s why I like to make things from old jeans, my new school pencil case is also made from old jeans and you can’t even see it!
What will you make on the shirt?
I’m gonna make something out of an old denim, my patch is a symbol of love for each other and the earth.
Laten we goed voor de aarde zorgen
Ik wil graag goed voor de aarde zorgen want ik ben nog jong en wil nog heel lang op een gezonde aarde leven. Ik denk dat het goed is om langer met iets te doen en dingen een tweede leven te geven vooral als iets nog niet stuk is. Als je alleen iets nieuws wil omdat je uitgekeken bent op het oude kun je ook hergebruiken. Daarom maak graag dingen van oude spijkerbroeken, mijn nieuwe schooletui is ook van een oude spijkerbroek gemaakt en je ziet het niet eens!
Wat ga je op het shirt maken?
Op het t shirt ga ik ook iets van een oude spijkerbroek maken, mijn patch staat voor liefde voor elkaar en de aarde.
